Mysteries Among Us #13

F. T. Bradley- We saved this turtle a few months ago (it was crossing the road ever so leisurely) and noticed the white spot on its shell. I still wonder what caused it--a scalding of some kind? Is it a battle scar? This guy was kind of cranky, so I could see it getting into a fight. Or maybe this turtle was just born that way, as Lady Gaga would sing. It's a mystery.

Talia Vance-  This week it was reported that the Voyager 1 space probe was leaving our solar system and entering interstellar space.  Photographs of deep space taken by the Hubble telescope reveal amazing images of galaxies and solar systems.  These pictures always make me feel so small and inconsequential.  The universe is so large, the earth is an invisible speck in comparison.  It makes me think of the Dr. Seuss classic Horton hears a who.  Our world is in proportion to us, but we are just specks living on the speck.  That doesn't make us any less worthy.  It just makes us small.  I can't help but wonder what new discoveries the Voyager will transmit as scientists evaluate the new data that comes in. Interstellar space is full of mysteries waiting to be discovered.
